The sad and pointless murder of Teng Santaromana Gamboa is to close to home and very sad for some of the members of Brits in the Philippines that knew her personally. Teng was introduced to me a few years ago, I only met her the once but I know a few of you were very friendly with Teng. I remember Teng seemed a friendly fun-loving woman, who was bubbly and full of life.
Teng left the office in Legaspi Village, Makati City where she worked in in the early hours of February 10th. Her family reported her missing to Makati Police when she failed to arrive home. Her body
was later found dumped on Kalayaan Avenue, Makati.
Police are calling for witnesses.
Teng was the Widow of the late vocalist Dominic “Papadom” Gamboa a member of the Filipino band Tropical Depression.
The crime comes after a rash of similar incidents just last year in Makati, including several hold-ups staged in broad daylight along the stretch of Chino Roces Avenue, not to mention one that occurred late at night which victimized an Inquirer employee who survived the ordeal.
It is very close to the area where a British woman and former model went missing back in 2010.
